On 13 November 2025, at KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha Theatre, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports; Mr. Yang Xiaolong, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand; and Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), convened with key public and private sector partners. These include the Department of Tourism, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Department of Health, Tourist Police, Tourism Council of Thailand, Thai Hotels Association, Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thai Retailers Association, Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association, Thai Amusement & Leisure Park Association, as well as major travel platforms such as Trip.com Group, Agoda Services, and Grab Thailand. The gathering marked a joint declaration of readiness to welcome tourists and to present the “Trusted Thailand” certification to participating tourism establishments, reinforcing safety standards and strengthening traveler confidence worldwide.

Mr. Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, stated that over the past ten months, Thailand has welcomed more than 26.7 million international tourists, including 3.7 million visitors from China, a market that places significant emphasis on travel safety. The government is therefore committed to enhancing travel quality in all dimensions and supporting the Trusted Thailand initiative as a critical mechanism to build confidence and encourage repeat visits—especially from the Chinese market.

Mr. Yang Xiaolong, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand, reiterated that this collaboration demonstrates Thailand’s sincere commitment to providing safe and high-quality travel experiences for Chinese tourists, who regard safety as a top priority.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, TAT Governor, emphasized that 2025 is a crucial year in strengthening traveler confidence, particularly within the fast-growing Chinese FIT segment. The Trusted Thailand initiative is a strategic collaboration that reinforces Thailand’s image as a safe, high-quality, and trustworthy destination, helping to restore its position as a “Top of Mind Destination” among Chinese travelers while driving Thailand toward achieving its tourism revenue target of 2.8 trillion baht in 2026.
