สถาบันวิจัยและพัฒนาอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับแห่งชาติ (องค์การมหาชน) หรือ GIT เดินหน้าสานต่อบทบาทสำคัญในการผลักดันอุตสาหกรรมอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับไทยสู่เวทีสากล ด้วยการจัด “การประกวดออกแบบเครื่องประดับระดับโลก ครั้งที่ 20” เนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบสองทศวรรษของโครงการ ภายใต้แนวคิด “Golden Twenty: A Journey of Brilliance and Artistry” ซึ่งสะท้อนการเดินทางแห่งความงดงาม ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และความเชี่ยวชาญที่สั่งสมมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง
โดย นายสุเมธ ประสงค์พงศ์ชัย ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันวิจัยและพัฒนาอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับแห่งชาติ (GIT) พร้อมผู้ชนะเลิศการประกวดที่ผ่านมาร่วมเปิดตัวการประกวดออกแบบเครื่องประดับระดับโลก ครั้งที่ 20 มุ่งยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับไทยสู่เวทีสากล เปิดโอกาสนักออกแบบทั่วโลกส่งผลงานในปี 2569
ตลอดระยะเวลากว่า 20 ปี เวทีการประกวดดังกล่าวได้กลายเป็นหนึ่งในกลไกสำคัญในการค้นหาและพัฒนานักออกแบบรุ่นใหม่ พร้อมทั้งสร้างโอกาสในการต่อยอดผลงานสู่เชิงพาณิชย์ และยกระดับภาพลักษณ์ของประเทศไทยในฐานะศูนย์กลางอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับของโลก
สำหรับปี 2569 การประกวดออกแบบเครื่องประดับยังคงเปิดกว้างสำหรับผู้สนใจจากทั่วโลก โดยผู้สมัครจะต้องนำเสนอผลงานในรูปแบบ “คอลเลกชัน” จำนวนไม่น้อยกว่า 3 ชิ้น ซึ่งต้องประกอบด้วยสร้อยคอร่วมกับเครื่องประดับประเภทอื่น เช่น ต่างหู แหวน หรือกำไล เพื่อสะท้อนความสมบูรณ์ของแนวคิดการออกแบบ ผลงานสามารถจัดทำได้ทั้งในรูปแบบภาพวาดลงสี หรือภาพดิจิทัล โดยต้องมีการอธิบายแนวคิดอย่างชัดเจน และที่สำคัญต้องเป็นผลงานใหม่ที่ไม่เคยเผยแพร่หรือได้รับรางวัลจากที่ใดมาก่อน ผู้เข้าประกวดสามารถเลือกใช้วัสดุได้อย่างหลากหลาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นอัญมณี โลหะมีค่า หรือวัสดุร่วมสมัย เช่น ไม้ เรซิ่น หรือเทคนิคผสมผสานต่าง ๆ โดยผลงานจะต้องสามารถพัฒนาไปสู่การผลิตจริงและสอดคล้องกับอุตสาหกรรมได้
ทั้งนี้ ผู้สมัครสามารถส่งผลงานได้ไม่เกิน 3 คอลเลกชันต่อคน ผ่านช่องทางออนไลน์ทางเว็บไซต์ หรือจัดส่งเอกสารและผลงานทางไปรษณีย์ กำหนดเปิดรับสมัครและส่งพลอยเจียระไนเข้าประกวดตั้งแต่วันนี้ ถึงวันที่ 31 พฤษภาคม 2569 ก่อนเข้าสู่กระบวนการคัดเลือกในรอบแบบวาด และพัฒนาสู่การผลิตผลงานจริงสำหรับรอบชิงชนะเลิศ โดยผลงานที่ผ่านการคัดเลือกจะได้รับการจัดแสดงและเผยแพร่ในระดับนานาชาติ รวมถึงมีโอกาสได้รับรางวัลรวมมูลค่ากว่า 7,000 เหรียญสหรัฐ
นอกจากเวทีการออกแบบเครื่องประดับแล้ว GIT ยังจัด “การประกวดพลอยเจียระไนระดับโลก ครั้งที่ 2” ควบคู่กัน เพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะช่างฝีมือและยกระดับมาตรฐานการเจียระไนสู่ระดับสากล ภายใต้หัวข้อ “Facet Alchemy” โดยเปิดรับสมัครถึงวันที่ 31 กรกฎาคม 2569 ผู้เข้าประกวดจะต้องส่งผลงานพลอยเจียระไนจริงตามประเภทที่กำหนด ทั้งในกลุ่มพลอยเนื้อแข็งที่ต้องใช้พลอยสังเคราะห์ และกลุ่มพลอยทั่วไปที่เปิดกว้างด้านความคิดสร้างสรรค์ ผลงานทั้งหมดจะถูกพิจารณาจากความแม่นยำ ความงดงาม และศักยภาพเชิงศิลปะและเทคนิค ก่อนประกาศผลและจัดแสดงผลงานในวันที่ 6 ตุลาคม 2569 ณ ลาน Living Hall ชั้น 3 ศูนย์การค้าสยามพารากอน
การจัดประกวดทั้งสองโครงการในปีนี้ จึงไม่เพียงเป็นเวทีการแข่งขัน หากยังเป็น “พื้นที่แห่งโอกาส” ที่เปิดให้ทั้งนักออกแบบและช่างฝีมือได้แสดงศักยภาพ เชื่อมโยงเครือข่าย และร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการขับเคลื่อนอุตสาหกรรมอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับไทยสู่อนาคตอย่างยั่งยืน

20 Years of Brilliance: A Global Stage Unveiled
Celebrating Two Decades of Artistry and Radiance Open Call for World Jewelry Design Awards
The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), or GIT, continues its pivotal mission to propel Thailand’s gem and jewelry industry onto the global stage with the launch of the GIT’s 20th World Jewelry Design Awards 2026. Marking two decades of excellence, this year’s competition is held under the theme “Golden Twenty: A Journey of Brilliance and Artistry,” reflecting a legacy of creativity, craftsmanship, and enduring beauty.
Over the past 20 years, the competition has become a key platform for discovering and nurturing emerging designers, while creating pathways for designs to evolve into commercially viable products. It has also played a significant role in strengthening Thailand’s position as a global hub for gems and jewelry.
For 2026, the competition is open to participants worldwide. Applicants are required to submit a collection of at least three pieces, including a necklace paired with other items such as earrings, rings, or bracelets, to demonstrate a cohesive design concept. Submissions may be presented as hand-rendered illustrations or digital designs, accompanied by a clear concept description. All entries must be original, unpublished, and must not have received prior awards.
Participants are encouraged to explore a wide range of materials, including gemstones, precious metals, and contemporary materials such as wood, resin, or mixed-media techniques. Designs must demonstrate the potential for real-world production and align with industry applications.
Each participant may submit up to three collections, either through the official website or by postal submission. The application period is open from now until May 31, 2026. Selected designs will progress through a sketch round before being developed into actual pieces for the final round. Finalists will gain international exposure, with total prizes valued at over USD 7,000.
In parallel, GIT is also organizing the GIT’s World Challenge Gems Faceting Master 2026, titled “Facet Alchemy,” aimed at advancing craftsmanship and elevating gem-cutting standards to an international level. Applications are open until July 31, 2026. Participants must submit actual faceted gemstones according to specified categories, including synthetic stones for the hard gemstone category and open creative designs for the general category.
Entries will be judged based on precision, brilliance, aesthetic quality, and technical excellence. Winners will be announced and showcased on October 6, 2026, at the Living Hall, 3rd Floor, Siam Paragon, Bangkok.
Together, these two competitions represent more than a contest—they serve as a platform of opportunity, enabling designers and artisans to showcase their talents, build networks, and contribute to the sustainable future of the global gem and jewelry industry.
