SIRIVANNAVARI AND S’HOMME
SPRING-SUMMER 2020 COLLECTION
CHAPTER I – “MYTHOS”
‘She dazzled like a million stars, more beautiful in the light of shaped moon.”
H.R.H. Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya
Under the roof of a world renowned museum where all the exquisite coutures, more than one could ever dream of, are splendidly exhibited. It is where the romance began. As a young art collector arrives to appreciate the masterpieces, he is captivated by a lady so stunning, her beauty is comparable to a Greek Goddess. Her eyes dazzle like a million stars. Both unsure if the feelings between them are real or not, both unaware how far this relationship could go. All they know is that the moment they share will never be forgotten.
This story was brought to the attention of HRH Princess Sirivannavari as the inspiration for SIRIVANNAVARI Spring-Summer 2020 named ‘Mythos Poética’, a capturing of retrospective of the brand’s signature ultra-feminine silhouettes, exquisite embroidery and the graphic prints created by Her Royal Highness. Besides, this collection will mark the start of the Maison’s 15th Anniversary celebration campaign.
CHAPTER II – “LOVE”
‘Thou will always be my soul, And I shall be Thee.”
H.R.H. Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya
As if her beauty was crafted by Praxiteles himself, the girl is dressed in a crystal embroidered off the shoulder, yellow peplum dress. While wandering through the museum, from one hall to another, her outfit magically changes into an embroidered taffeta draped deconstructed bow dress, then a corset with a silk chiffon hoodie and vegan leather tulip skirt, respectively.
H.R.H. Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, SIRIVANNAVARI Creative Director, said ‘As SIRIVANNVARI has reached its 15th anniversary, we have planned a series of celebrations to mark this significant milestone throughout the year, beginning with the Spring-Summer 2020 collection. The inspiration for this season came from my own poems as well as the retrospective of my signature designs, which are modernised to match the theme of the collection. In addition, I have incorporated unfinished work from the past, including some of my designs exhibited when I graduated from École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, which have never been shown in public before.
‘Therefore, this collection includes both new creations, as well as the modernised signature designs, echoing a reminiscent effect which can be seen from the one shoulder top with oversized puff sleeve, in ivory silk chiffon, paired with the silk biker diaper pants (adapted from the key look of the Spring-Summer 2008 Collection ‘Presence of the Past’). Fringe details – which was a key technique in the Spring-Summer 2009 Collection ‘Ethnic Rock’ – has been brought back for the ivory peplum vest with the maxi tassel hem, creating an hourglass shaped illusion. Also, you will see the shoulder cut out tweed biker jacket (reminiscent of Fall-Winter 2019/2020) and the delicate embroidery technique on the tulle blouse – from Spring-Summer 2015 ‘Napoleonic’ – in a new pattern for this season: ‘Lily of the Valley’, said H.R.H. Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.
CHAPTER III – “Poètica”
‘All shall come in to the trembling moment full of love.”
H.R.H. Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya
SIRIVANNAVARI and S’HOMME Spring-Summer 2020 collection has 67 looks in total, (59 womenswear and 8 menswear). As for the new signature looks for the season, the show commences with a Greek Goddess cocktail dress, in pleated silk, with the new logo perforated belt, a raffia yarn midriff midi dress with embroidered Lily of the valley in blue-ivy and a layered two tone lace vest with lace appliqué.
To enrich the 15th anniversary celebration, the princess also showcases the showstopper coutures, such as the heart shaped dress with oversized puff sleeves and the asymmetrical, single-shoulder maxi mermaid gown with a dramatic draped ribbon.
In addition, the spotlight shines on the marvellous embroidery as SIRIVANNAVARI Atelier and Academy, the in-house workshop of couture embroidery, which shows truly exquisite craftsmanship. This can be seen from the feather embellishment on the fishtail evening gown, lace appliqué, and the encrusted crystal and pearl on the delicate tulle fabric.
As anticipated, graphic print, one of the brand’s DNA, remains a highlight. The Princess has created prints by visually translating her imagination. The prints of the season include the zodiac signs drawn by the princess as well as newspaper print. The prints are incorporated throughout the collection from ready to wear, shoes and scarves.
The spotlight continues to shine on the Bijoux Collection, which selectively continues to celebrate the 15th anniversary by revisiting the symbols of the house such as; clover leaf, coin, heart, bee, horse, hummingbird, lily of the house, ray of light and peacock. The creative director brings the jewellery to life under the theme of Grecian Roman, featuring the gold metal and silver applying both shiny and vintage effect.
The key pieces feature a gold metal choker adorned with Siam ruby, bee pendants inspired by the original necklace from the Spring-Summer 2004 collection ‘Red Hobby’, the interchangeable brass ring which allows you to choose the stone to match your own astrological sign, the body necklace with pendant adorned with baroque pearl, ray of light ear cuffs, crystal adorned ear of rice headpiece, the set of ‘Clover leaves’- including gold choker, ring and earrings -, and a set of ‘Lily of the Valley’ adorned with pearls.
To complete and complement the look of the day, the collection also features Italian leather goods. The signature bag of this season takes a back-to-basics approach, with a modern twist to subvert the genre, symbolising discreet luxury. The marriage of these two kinds of leathers: extra soft calf leather and the interwoven leather is the key, which are available in two shapes, the bucket bag and the drawstring bag in either black or latté. The shoe collection offers two iconic styles, a stiletto and an acrylic wedge pump. The stiletto is made of the ultimate in luxury Italian calf leather in 5 shades (gold, rosé, black, white and nude). Besides this, the ribbon ankle wrap stiletto is also available. In particular, the fuchsia-lacquered sole becomes the signature of the Maison in this season.
For S’Homme, the menswear collection celebrates the luxury of an elegant gentleman. The collection derives from essential patterns with a modern twist, with a special focus on the deconstruction technique. The Princess reinterpreted the coat from the Spring-Summer 2018 collection ‘Horse, Helen, Henry’ by combining two different fabrics -pinstripe wool in brown and pink cotton’ including zipper details paired with winked collar tuxedo shirt and cropped pants. The key looks also include a cobalt nautical-blue jacket with zipper details, a printed silk shirt paired with slim fit cropped jeans and a patchwork denim shirt with a denim heart-shaped badge embellished with the ‘S’ logo.
The collection also features men’s leather goods, including suede loafers, lace-up shoes, sandals and a clutch made with interwoven leather in both black and latté. Furthermore, this season’s collection offers a wide array of fashion accessories such as rings, necklaces, pendants, peacock pin suits and scarves.
SIRIVANNAVARI Spring/Summer 2020 collection is available at SIRIVANNAVARI Boutique on the 1st Floor, Siam Paragon Shopping Complex.
To welcome the summer, the beachwear collection also plays an important role. SIRIVANNAVARI beachwear can empower all women to feel confident in their figures, with bikini and cut-out silhouette with ruffles in bold colours such as shocking pink and turquoise . In addition, active wear is also available.
